First thought: very underwhelming.
* The textures are blocky and pixelated (the thrusters on the Abaddon, for example). * My AA and AF isn't being applied, despite the fact they are enabled in the drivers - no piece of software has the right to mess with - or worse, ignore - system settings, it's very bad engineering. I've read above that there's a third party alternative to sort this - I hope you fix it to be in-game, soon. * Performance is a joke. I've one from 120+ FPS in classic to 60 if I'm lucky in space, and down to something god-awful like 20 or 30 in station. Turning off shadows helped, but there's no excuse for it to be this way. I'm going to do some more testing tomorrow to see if it's not some compatibility issues, but I'm not holding my breath. I can't believe that it's the system settings though, as Oblivion and Bioshock (both HDR, Bloom, shadows et al games) run at around 60 FPS if not more at the same resolution, and they are vastly more complicated that Eve in terms of vectors. I doubt the new models even come close to the poly-count of those two games, given the poor quality of textures.
The good things:
* Drone changes. It took you 4 years, which is ridiculous, but it's here now. * Altering overview. At bloody last. * Moving the targets - I am very very glad about this, however I see the option to stack them in rows of x has been removed since Sisi. This needs to be brought back, if only because we can't move everything on the interface yet. * Uniformity of ships. The Rohk is now the same shade as the other Tech 1 Caldari ships. This is a good thing. I've yet to see other races than Amarr and Caldari.
Still to be done:
* Let us move all the UI components. I'm sick of having to work everything around an over-sized console in the centre of my screen! And as for the system information and autopilot information - eugh, it gets in the way. It's very difficult to work around those two obstacles for the non-flight windows, especially trying to manage multiple chat windows. I know there are a few people who would like to be able to have 5 or 6 groups of chat windows all along the bottom to better communicate when there are battles. * Controls for drone groups. Yes, thank you, I can now move drones together, but only all five. We've been asking to be able to order different groups of drones to do different things though. It's especially important if you're trying to work in more versatility of drones instead of sheer firepower.
All in all, a decent if vastly overdue functionality expansion, a moderate content expansion, and a (thus far) dreadful graphics expansion.
All IMO, of course, and from my own experience. But it sounds like the majority of the things I've listed above aren't unique to me.
